Arizona State faces their first big test of the season on Saturday, as they take on the eleventh-ranked Wisconsin Badgers in Madison. Some of the early Vegas lines have the Badgers favored by 14 points, but that’s not keeping the Sun Devils from thinking they can’t pull off the upset.
Here are some quotes and notes from today’s practice.
On playing Wisconsin.
Coach Dennis Erickson: “It’s going to be a tremendous challenge for us, but we’re excited about it.”
Quarterback Steven Threet: “It’s a great opportunity for us to go out and see how we do in a hostile environment against a good football team.”
Wide Receiver Gerell Robinson: “This team is definitely beatable, especially with the way we’re playing, I think we can do it. As long as we do what we’re supposed to, and control the ball, we’ll come out with a victory.”
Wide Receiver Mike Willie: “We’re feeling good going into this game. We have a new team, everybody’s ready, so be prepared, because it’s going to be a new ASU year.”
On what it will be like to play in Camp Randall Stadium
Erickson: “It’s going to be interesting for our players, and I’ve talked to them about that. You get to go back and play in the Big-10 in front of 80,000 people. It’s going to be a tremendous experience for us. I know we’re excited”
Threet: “It’s a big time stadium, it’s gonna be intense, but we’re excited to play in that type of environment.”
Robinson: “Coach showed us a clip of them doing the House of Pain Jump Around thing. It looks like an exciting atmosphere, and I’m looking forward to it. ”
