ASU-Oregon Preview

September 26th, 2010 by

Let the real season begin. After three non-conference games, the Arizona State Sun Devils open up Pac-10 play by hosting the fifth-ranked Oregon Ducks.

The Ducks will give ASU no time to dwell on last week’s heart-breaking loss to Wisconsin, as they are first in the country in total offense and points scored.

Oregon (3-0) opened up the season with a 72-0 win against New Mexico, and followed that up with a 48-13 win against Tennessee and a 69-0 win against Portland State. The defending Pac-10 champions have won by such big margins that they haven’t really shown off new quarterback Darron Thomas. They used reserves for a half against New Mexico and Portland State.

The Sun Devils (2-1) are coming off a disappointing 20-19 loss to the eleventh-ranked Badgers after Jay Valai blocked an extra point that would have tied the game.

While the loss stung, the players insist they are over it and are more focused than ever to beat Oregon.

This will be ASU’s final home game for over a month, as its next three games are on the road against Oregon State, Washington, and Cal.

You can listen to the ASU-Oregon game live on the Blaze 1330 AM. Coverage starts with the countdown to kickoff pregame show at 7:15, followed by kickoff at 7:30.
