FINAL: UW SWEEPS ASU 3-0

3rd set: UW earns the 25-22 set win and 3-0 sweep over ASU!

UW in complete control here, despite leading by only three points. I’m not sure if ASU has enough in the tank to pull off a small comeback

Watson calls timeout as ASU now trails 15-18

After ASU took the lead on a UW net penatly, Perry unloaded on a kill to bring us even at 13

UW’s Perry kills it for yet another tie score, that didn’t last long as Perry’s block assist gives UW the 11-10 lead

Mendivil strikes for two kills to give ASU the 10-8 lead, nice enthusiasm out of Danica, ASU still very much in this one

ACE! Sarah Reaves”s service ace extends ASU’s lead to 6-3    UW timeout

A pair of kills from Reaves gives ASU an early 2-0 lead

Hagglund will serve to get this one started.

2nd set: UW takes set two as well by a final score of 25-23

A service ace from Carlson gives UW the 24-22 lead, and then she  serves it into the net for an ASU point, 23-24

Kindra Carlson extends UW’s lead to two, 22-20 over ASU

So much for that lead, UW leads 20-19 now, let’s hope ASU has some comeback magic left   Watson timeout!

It’s Wilson again with a nasty kill to give ASU a slim 18-17 lead and prompt another UW timeout

Cat Highmark sets to Erica Wilson who hits the dominating kill to make it only 14-16. McLaughlin timeout!

Crucial point in the set for ASU as it can’t let UW get too far ahead

Watson calls timeout for ASU, down 12-15

While UW continues to utilize the tip, Sarah Reaves joins in the “tipping” to grab a point  for ASU, 11-12 now

It’s a back and forth contest here, 8-8 now, Wilson to serve

Another close set so far, ASU has led 3-2 and 4-3 but UW marched back to hold a 6-4 lead

1st set:ASU loses the opening set 20-25 to fall t0-1 in the match

Personally I think tipping the ball over the net is pretty lame, if you’re that good of a hitter, slam the ball over please

Watson calls timeout, ASU trailing 19-22, and had a nice opportunity to tie this at 20, but UW quickly prevented that from happening

Malia Marquardt’s block assist draws ASU within two and makes UW coach Jim McLaughlin call his first timeout

ASU showing some life here, but still trail by four, 15-19, ASU desparately needing to grab some momentum here

Sarah Reaves gets involved with two nasty kills to cut the deficit to 14-17

Becky Perry blocks Erica Wilson’s attack to give Uw the 14-11 lead over ASU. Watson calls timeout

An errant serve from ASU’s Preach ties this set at 11-11

Danica Mendivil’s block assist gives ASU the 10-9 lead

Kinda Carlson’s service ace ties this at 7-7

Washington’s Jenna Hagglund to start things off with the serve, and after UW jumped out to a 3-0 lead, Cat Highmark’s kill got ASU on the board at 1-3
