The ASU volleyball team continues Pac-10 play this afternoon against No. 8 California. The Golden Bears (11-0) are fresh off a 3-2 victory over U of A on Friday night.
The Sun Devils (5-8) are coming off a tough loss against No. 1 Stanford in their conference opener.
ASU Starting Lineup:

- Sarah Reaves
- Danica Mendivil
1st set: The Sun Devils are off to a quick start against the Golden Bears. ASU freshman outside hitter Danica Mendivil’s kill makes it 6-2.
Cal responds with several points to not only tie, but take a 10-8 lead over the Sun Devils. ASU Timeout!
It’s a tight contest here at Wells Fargo Arena, the Sun Devils have drawn within one point, 20-21.
The opening set belongs to Cal, as they surge ahead to win 25-23 over ASU and take a 1-0 match lead.
2nd set: The Sun Devils break the huddle with plenty of enthusiasm, a 2nd set victory is crucial to keep their match hopes alive.
ASU is looking sluggish in the early stages of the 2nd set. ASU coach Jason Watson calling for them to get excited.
The Sun Devils fall in the 2nd set 21-25 to Cal.
3rd set: The Bears have come out firing after the break. ASU currently trails 9-11. ASU’s Erica Wilson makes it 10-11.
The Sun Devils haven been defeated by the Golden Bears 24-26 here in the 3rd set.
Cal sweeps ASU 3-0 to remain undefeated on the season. While ASU falls to 5-9 and 0-2 in conference play.
ASU returns to the court next weekend at the McKale Center in Tucson against UA.
