Williams is the last Formula 1 team not to have a confirmed driver lineup for the 2024 season. Williams, who is seventh in the constructor standings heading into the United States Grand Prix, currently has Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant racing for them, but only Albon has been confirmed for 2024. Sargeant, a 22-year-old rookie from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has had a hard time adjusting to Formula 1 after finishing fourth in his first full Formula 2 season the year prior. Sargeant is yet to score his first point, meaning that all 23 of Williams's points come from his teammate, Albon. It isn’t just a lack of points, though. Sargeant hasn’t been able to limit accidents and is estimated to have cost his team around $3.9 million in damages as of the Japanese Grand Prix, an absolutely staggering number. Obviously, these two issues have combined to make Sargeant’s rookie season a rather disappointing one, and it makes sense that Williams is putting off having to commit to the young American for 2024. Sergeant very well could end up driving for the team again next year, but the longer it takes for him to be announced, the more it feels like it could be someone else. Who could it be, though? Well, there are undoubtedly multiple drivers Williams management could turn to, but who are those drivers, and do any of them even make sense?

October Baseball is here. The postseason field is set, and the Wild Card Series kicks off on Tuesday, October 3rd. When Shohei Ohtani signed with the Los Angeles Angels on December 8, 2017, they immediately were expected to strongly compete for a World Series sometime in the next six years. This was an Angels team that already had the undisputed best player in baseball, Mike Trout, who was on his way to G.O.A.T status at that point in time, and they had just added a player who was being hailed as the Japanese Babe Ruth.

When the 2023 Formula 1 season started, Alpha Tauri had a driver pairing of then 22-year-old Yuki Tsunoda, entering his third year in the top flight of motorsports, and 28-year-old F1 rookie, Nyck de Vries. Despite being an older rookie in F1, de Vries wasn’t seen as an easy opponent for Tsunoda. It was expected that both teammates would push each other and that de Vries might even edge out Tsunoda for the team’s top spot. However, expectations don’t always come to fruition. De Vries was subbed out for Daniel Riccardo, who then was replaced by Liam Lawson due to an injury. Riccardo will race alongside Tsunoda last year, but a Lawson-Tsunoda pairing makes much more sense.

Every September, the MLB postseason races start to heat up, and fans get treated to a month’s worth of meaningful baseball. The first teams begin clinching spots early in September, with the final teams often clinching on the last days of the season. This season is no different. With just over two weeks left in the season, four teams have clinched their spots. The Braves clinched the NL East first, and the Dodgers followed a few days later, clinching the NL West. Sunday, the Orioles and Rays both secured at least a Wild Card berth. Meanwhile, the other races are still up in the air, and could potentially come down to the wire with major shake ups until then. Taking a look specifically at the Wild Card, and which teams will have a chance in the postseason, the NL Wild Card is a bit more clean cut, while the AL Wild Card will likely come down to the AL West division.
