Cam Skattebo was a revelation this past season for Arizona State Football. After transferring from Sacramento State to Tempe in his Junior season, Skattebo had flashes of potential while being a bright spot during a troubled 2023 season for the Sun Devils. Coming into the season, however, Kenny Dillingham described Skattebo as a transformed player who looked like he could take his game to the next level of football.

We are about to see a historic level of tanking to end the 2024 NFL season. One game separates the Raiders with the first pick and the Browns with the eighth pick. If you’re a fan of any team in the 2-3 win range, prepare to watch some disgusting football. But even if you’re a fan of a playoff team, it’s always important to view the scope of the draft. So here are five things you should know about the 2025 NFL draft.

I’ve always thought that head coaching candidates getting interviews at this time of the year was a real conflict of interest for not just the individuals in the interviews but for the league as a whole. Having teams with a vacant head coaching spot having to interview people in the middle of a Super Bowl push isn’t fair to either side, but it goes to show that the NFL never stops going. There’s no other time to do it. While coordinators on both sides of the ball (I highly doubt there will be a special teams coach hired as a head coach anytime soon) prepare for some of the most important games of their careers, they also prepare for the biggest job interviews of their careers as well. This year in particular feels like a stacked pool of candidates with a mix of young, innovative minds mixed with older, multi-time coaches who have reinvented themselves in a way. Before I begin with my list, this link is a CBS Sports article following which candidates are being interviewed and who they’ve been interviewed by. Now, here’s who I believe are the best fits for each team (excluding the Patriots since they’ve hired Mike Vrabel, for what it’s worth I think he’ll be great there)

ATLANTA - For a man who made so much noise this season, Cam Skattebo wasn’t going to end his college career quietly. Down 24-16, against No. 5 Texas, just over midway through the 4th quarter of the Peach Bowl and College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, the senior tailback caught a 62-yard bomb down the left side of the field. Two flags were thrown, he had been held, and he had been interfered with. His helmet even came off. None of it mattered.

When No. 5 Texas’ senior defensive tackle Bill Norton engulfed Clemson’s 4th and goal try from the 1-yard line well short of the endzone, maintaining the Longhorns' two-score lead midway through the fourth quarter of the First Round of the College Football Playoff, two facts became true. The Longhorns' season continued to the Quarterfinal, and No. 4 Arizona State (10-2, 7-2 Big 12) finally knew its challenger in the Peach Bowl.
