Decadence Arizona: What you need to know

If you’re looking for a way to combine EDM and New Year’s Eve this year, Decadence Arizona is coming back for its ninth year at the Phoenix Raceway.

Considered one of Arizona’s largest New Year’s Eve celebrations, Decadence Arizona is an EDM rave happening Dec. 30-31.

This year, the performances include a variety of EDM artists. Headliners consist of DJs like Steve Aoki, Subtronics, Illenium, Loud Luxury, Black Sex Tiger Machine, Steve Lake and more. Steve Aoki and Subtronics are set to headline on the 30th.

Shay Tapley, a previous attendee of Decadence Arizona, expressed her excitement about this year's lineup, saying she’s “looking forward to every artist.” This anticipation is shared by many, as EDM fans from all over the region eagerly await the chance to see their favorite artists take the stage.

This year's Decadence theme is "The Sky Realm," represented by a dreamy, futuristic aesthetic in shades of pink and blue. Many guests use the December rave as an opportunity to combine winter and rave fashion, dressing in cool colors, like blues and whites, and embellishing outfits with furry and fuzzy accessories. Popular outfit choices in the past for Decadence include animal prints, flashy coats, and even full out cosplay.

The festival is in partnership with Global Dance and Relentless Beats, who’s Weird and Wonderful performers will also be performing throughout the grounds, decked out in elaborate costumes to add the overall surreal, “out-of-this-world” vibe Decadence is aiming to bring to the show. There will be food sold on the premises, as well as different vendors and photo-ops.

Decadence Arizona has been around since 2014, and has featured a number of prominent performers including Flume, Wooli, Dillion Francis and Zed’s Dead.

For many attendees, the best part of Decadence Arizona is the incredible crowd and the infectious energy that permeates the atmosphere.

“Everyone is just there to have a good time and enjoy the music,” Tapley said.

Decadence Arizona is an 18+ event and ID is needed upon entry. There is no re-entry. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show closes off at 3 a.m., making the event a strong choice for those looking for late-night entertainment.

Two-day tickets start at $149. All ticket sales are final.
