Charities including Planned Parenthood, Black Mamas Matter Alliance and more, were announced alongside the festival and lineup in June. The festival had a major emphasis on these charities, with all net proceeds from the festival going towards the non-profits that participated.

The festival donated $10 million to the 10 different charities that participated in the festival. Before Rodrigo’s set, however, both Rodrigo and the founder of the Gates Foundation, Melinda French Gates, announced that Gates matched the original donation, totalling $20 million in donations. 

Throughout the 14 artists performing, there was a well balanced mix of both smaller artists like Eli, Rachel Chinouriri and Devon Again, and major artists like Mitski, Chappell Roan and Not For Radio. 

Each performance was marked not only with incredible artistry, but also a sense of gratitude from the performers to Rodrigo. During her performance, indie singer Mitski recalled how Rodrigo personally called her to perform at the all-women festival to benefit women and girls.

Although there were minor setbacks, such as KATSEYE and Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs dropping out of the festival due to an injury and personal matters respectively, Rodrigo and her management were able to fix these issues in a timely manner. Devon Again replaced KATSEYE and Alanis Morisette filled in for Karen O’s special guest performance during Rodrigo’s Set.

The undercard performances were spectacular in their own right. Up-and-coming pop singer Rachel Chinouriri played the lead single, “One song away from crying,” off of her soon-to-be released record alongside some unreleased songs at the Marigold Stage early in the day.

At the Dandelion Stage, artists like Doechii and Chappell Roan brought their energy and got the audience excited and prepared for Rodrigo’s headlining set later that night. Doechii’s “DENIAL IS A RIVER” and “Alter Ego” got the audience on their feet and jumping.

Chappell Roan brought her Pink Pony Club to the Dandelion Stage as well in a “The Fifth Element" inspired outfit, playing her hit songs “The Subway,” “Femininomenon” and “HOT TO GO!”

Not For Radio, the solo project of The Marías lead singer Maria Zardoya, closed the Marigold Stage before Rodriogo’s set at the Dandelion Stage. Zardoya performed her big hit “Back to You” alongside some unreleased songs including “Comet” and “Hot Day.” 

Rodrigo’s headlining set with her special guests was a major highlight for many attendees. Sarah McLachlan’s guest performance included a touching tribute to Dolly Parton with McLachlan’s “Angel” which brought the audience to tears, while Stevie Nick’s encore performance of “Landslide” alongside Rodrigo was an incredible way to not only end Rodrigo's set, but to end the festival for the day.

Overall, Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields was not only a success in collecting donations towards organizations supporting women and girls across the United States, but it also was a must-see event for fans and attendees going to see their favorite artists.
