Forsaken Sands canceled; VOYD AZ debut pushed to Decadence

Relentless Beats announced Forsaken Sands presented by VOYD/SVDDEN DEATH will not be proceeding as planned four days before the event.

Forsaken Sands at Wild Horse Pass Festival Grounds was billed as the Arizona debut of SVDDEN DEATH’s darker project, VOYD, and was set to bring a star-studded bass lineup to the Valley on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The lineup included longtime bass music icon Zomboy and rising artists like Nimda, Vanfleet and Prosecute, with back-to-back sets from beastboi., HAMRO, PYKE and 7L

On Sep. 30, Relentless Beats announced on Instagram the event would no longer be taking place, citing that “challenges prevented us from bringing the show to life at the level it deserves.”

Fans have speculated that the recent storm that swept through the Valley may have damaged the stage or the area around it, similar to how Excision’s AZ headline show, Basstrack, was delayed for a month in 2023 due to stage damage from the monsoon that ravaged the metro area a few days prior.

All was not lost for VOYD fans, however. In the same post, RB added that VOYD has been added to the lineup for Decadence: the Portal of I11usions on New Year’s to make up for this weekend’s loss. The performance is promised to be delivered in full.

Tickets for Forsaken Sands will be refunded in the next week, according to the post.

SVDDEN DEATH posted the same day on X that a pop-up show in Arizona will be announced soon featuring some of the artists on the original show lineup. RB and Aftershock officially reposted this on their Instagram pages.
