Phoenix needs ‘CPR’ after Wet Leg brings ‘moisturizer’ tour to Arizona Financial Theatre

English rock band Wet Leg rocked the  Arizona Financial Theatre as part of its North American “moisturizer” tour on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025.

London indie rock trio mary in the junkyard kicked off the night with atmospheric, dreamy rock melodies. The band consists of Clari Freeman-Taylor on lead vocals and guitar, Saya Barbaglia playing bass and viola and David Addison on drums. The outfit indulged the Phoenix audience in a rollercoaster of intense emotion.

Freeman-Taylor’s delicate, eerie vocals complemented her bandmates' full-throttle rhythms. Barbaglia’s use of viola alongside Taylor’s guitar and Addison’s drums brought a captivating quality that can only be captured in a live performance. After enveloping the theater in a wall of sound, mary in the junkyard left the crowd primed for Wet Leg’s arrival.

At 9:20 p.m., concertgoers jumped to their feet when Wet Leg emerged on stage from a cloud of smoke. Frontwoman Rhian Teasdale flexed her arms before launching into the bass-driven “catch these fists.” Rapid white strobe lights flooded the crowd, a pattern that would continue throughout the evening.

Wet Leg first gained recognition after its 2022 viral hit “Chaise Longue.” The song charmed listeners with its simplicity and attitude, capturing the cool-girl energy and wittiness that Wet Leg became known for. Wet Leg would go on to win 2 Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Performance for “Chaise Longue” and Best Alternative Music Album  for “Wet Leg” in 2023.

Rhian Teasdale and Heather Chambers began Wet Leg as a duo with the release of its debut self-titled album “Wet Leg.” Since then, the band introduced Jason Mobaraki on guitar and synth, Henry Holmes on drums, and Ellis Durand on bass, to contribute to the writing of Wet Leg’s sophomore album “moisturizer” released on July 11, 2025.

Wet Leg’s latest release “moisturizer” feels like the band's matured evolution of its previous release. Songs like “CPR,” “don’t speak” and “11:21” explore more emotional themes of love while continuing the tongue-in-cheek humor that established the band’s popularity.

There was a noticeable air of confidence in Teasdale’s stage presence. Her performance fluctuated as she flipped her hair and leaned into cameras at the front of the stage then reeled back into more intimate moments in songs like “liquidize”.

During “Wet Dream” from the band’s 2022 self-titled album, Teasdale commanded the Phoenix audience to let out their loudest screams as she spun around the stage and white strobes once again overtook the theater.

Teasdale’s charisma is unshakable, yet the rest of the group isn’t overshadowed. There was a clear chemistry that kept the band equally invigorated and cohesive. Driving drums and satisfying bass and guitar riffs had audience members stomping their feet and throwing their hands up throughout the entirety of the show.

Wet Leg wrapped up the night with a hit from “moisturizer”: “CPR”. In the head-banging closer, Teasdale sang, “Hello, 999./ What’s your emergency?/ Well, the thing is I, I, I, I, I I’m in love,” as she strutted the stage with a red landline phone wrapped around her arm.

Wet Leg’s “moisturizer” tour felt like a rebirth for the band in many ways. From its layering of riffs and sounds, embracing emotional vulnerability, and commanding the stage as an arena. For longtime fans, it’s reassuring to witness elements of the band evolve and prove Wet Leg is more than a one hit wonder.

Wet Leg is on tour in North America until Oct. 17, 2025 ending in Los Angeles, California.
