PHOENIX — College football is back and with that is Blaze Radio’s coverage of the Arizona State football program. In a football season that is filled with storylines, primarily around the first year of head coach Kenny Dillingham and the program’s final football season as a member of the Pac-12, Blaze Radio looks forward to enhancing its broadcast experience for a historic year on the gridiron for the Sun Devils.
Aiden Blanc, Jordy Fee-Platt, Blake Niemann, Ben Parris, Tia Reid, Riley Swenson, Jaden Taylor, and Matt Venezia will be making their Blaze Radio football play-by-play debuts this season. Jonah Krell, Cavan Malayter, Brenden Paul, Dylan Pescatore, Walker Smith, and Ryan Sykora will return to the broadcast booth after calling football for Blaze in 2022, completing the team of 14 play-by-play broadcasters the station will feature this season.
“Football, like any year, is the pinnacle of what we do here at Blaze,” said Ryan Sykora, Blaze Radio Sports Director. “Super excited to bring new, young, underclassmen like Blake [Niemann], Jaden [Taylor], and Ben [Parris] as well as older newcomers like Matt [Venezia] and Jordy [Fee-Platt] on the play-by-play side. Those five meshed with the rest of the talented crew make for a very exciting group of broadcasters this year.”
In addition to the traditional two-person crews, the station is proud to announce a new feature to its football broadcasts for the 2023 season, bringing sideline reporters onto select broadcasts. The talented crew that will bring you the action from the field include Lauren Avenatti, Erik List, and Sammy Miller. Additionally, the aforementioned Blake Niemann and Ben Parris, who will call the season opener between Arizona State and Southern Utah on August 31st, will also be featured as sideline reporters throughout the season.
“Sideline is a new element to the puzzle that is Blaze Radio this year,” Sykora added. “To my knowledge, this is the first year Blaze has ever done this. Very excited to add new opportunities for any newcomers interested in Blaze Sports before sideline was a possibility.”
In addition to the added roles of the broadcasts, Blaze Radio has expanded its platforms for listeners to enjoy Sun Devil football. This year, all 12 regular season games will be simulcasted on Blaze Sports X (formarly known as Twitter), blazeradioonline.com, Blaze Radio’s Mixlr page, and the Blaze Sports Stream via Blaze Radio’s Website.
