ASU Women’s Basketball Tips Off on Blaze with Pair of Opening Week Home Games

PHOENIX — Women’s hoops makes its return to the hardwood, and with that another season of college basketball on Blaze Radio can begin. The station will have live coverage from every game at Desert Financial Arena and select road games this season, making it one of Blaze’s biggest women’s basketball seasons to date.

“We are super excited to bring another season of women’s basketball coverage to blaze airwaves,” said Ryan Sykora, Blaze Radio Sports Director. “The sport provides an excellent opportunity for so many Cronkite students to get their feet wet, working on the game of basketball. You’ll get the chance to hear from so many young and talented Cronkite broadcasters”

The station will employ 32 play-by-play broadcasters to call the action throughout the season, with two games headlining the team’s opening week. Blaze also plans on sending a crew of broadcasters to the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they will call the action from each of the 11 games in the conference tournament.

“We’re thrilled to have a full regular season, with every home game, on Blaze Radio culminating with the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament in March,” Sykora added. “This could very likely turn out to be one of the best women’s basketball broadcast staff and seasons we’ve ever assembled here at Blaze.”

It all begins on Monday, November 6, as Arizona State will host UTSA, and on Friday, November 10, when the Sun Devils will host Montana State. Both games will be available on Blaze Radio’s Mixlr page. Koby Braunstein, Rome Kadi, Shane Sayegh, and Luc Carter will have the call for the opening pair of games.
