For the Seattle Seahawks, moving on from Pete Carroll was one of the most shocking moves this offseason. He pioneered how NFL defenses played in the 2010s and still has his fingerprint on pleny of players and schemes to this day. Turning the page from him was incredibly risky. He was beloved by every player that played for him and grew to be one of the most charismatic coaches in the league, even as the oldest coach in the league. The Seahawks weren’t just replacing a head coach, they were replacing their entire identity, which made them one of the premier teams in the league and the standard over the last 15 years.

The Saviors Tour brought The Linda Lindas, Rancid, The Smashing Pumpkins and Green Day to Chase Field in Phoenix on Sept. 18, and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sept. 14. The tour, meant to highlight the 30th anniversary of Green Day’s album “Dookie” and the 20th anniversary of its album “American Idiot” also provided the four bands with an opportunity to encourage attendees to vote, as well as share their music with the arenas. The enormous stage provided a just backdrop for the bands to explode. Blaze Radio’s Bella Mazzilli was at the Phoenix show, with Brooklyn Cohen attending the night in Los Angeles.

One might expect “We Ain’t Ever Gonna Break Up: The Hymon & Parfunkel Musical” to be a direct parody or retelling of the famed duo Simon and Garfunkel’s story. But, the audience member in question would be incorrect to assume such a thing. The show consisted of two actors playing a variety of roles, from policeman to hand puppet wife, making it confusing to keep track of who is speaking in which context, and making the show quite confusing altogether. Its one-hour and 45-minute runtime felt lengthy.

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Police Department and Phoenix City Council continue to face ongoing criticism from citizens regarding the police department’s use of excessive force and allegations of discrimination.
The Department of Justice announced its investigation into the Phoenix Police Department on Aug. 5, 2021, and completed a report in 34 months regarding the allegations of civil rights violations such as racial discrimination and violation of First Amendment rights. The DOJ found that the allegations were true and the Phoenix Police Department had engaged in behavior that violates the U.S. Constitution and federal law, according to the DOJ website
The Phoenix City Council met on Sept. 24 to discuss the implementation of policies regarding public safety concerns. These policies were set to give the police increased funding for reformation. Speakers such as Mardi Winkler and Shawanna Chambers El shared their personal experiences with the Phoenix Police Department and the justice system, calling for defunding. Other speakers, such as Anna Hernandez, criticized how long it has taken for Phoenix’s City Council to address the police department’s threat to public safety.

Last week, UnidosUS, the largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S. released its 2024 Pre-election Poll. The poll was on the Hispanic Electorate with 3,000 Latino voters surveyed around the country.

Arizona has been in a constant battle with fighting addiction in the valley specifically with the drug known as fentanyl. A group of experts including Jeff Beaver, the drug trafficking chief at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Kenny Silvia who is part of the neighborhood enforcement team with the Phoenix Police Department, Austin Moreland, the chief of emergency medical services for the Phoenix Fire Department, and Rachel Mitchell, the Maricopa County Attorney. They collaborated to talk about the issue at an event organized by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
